Composite Bonding

What is Composite Bonding?

Composite Bonding is where a shade-matched filling material is added to the surface of your own teeth, to change the size and shape of your teeth - to create the smile you want.

There have been huge advances in the materials used in Composite Bonding in recent years, meaning Composite Bonding can be used for many new things, like disguising minor imperfections in your front teeth, closing gaps and hiding tooth rotations, with absolutely no damage to your own teeth.

There are two types of Composite Bonding:

Edge-Bonding - adding composite to the edges of your own teeth to change the length and shape of the teeth, or close spaces.

Composite Veneers - adding composite across the whole front surface of the teeth to disguise rotations and crowding, or to make your smile bigger and brighter! (A bit like a false nail!)

Would this help my smile?

We can change the shape of your teeth, make your teeth longer, make the edges of your teeth straighter or more symmetrical, and often correct crowding and rotations of your teeth.

Is it better than normal veneers?

Bonding can bring about impressive results in a single visit, without the use of injections and without the filing of your own teeth. We can provide you with a same-day smile transformation, with all treatment done in as little as one visit, without the removal of any tooth tissue, and can be significantly cheaper than porcelain veneers.

Is this what I have seen on Instagram?

Recently Composite Bonding has had all kind of coverage on social media which is brilliant, as so many more people are aware of it! But this isn't a fad! We have been using Composite Bonding for many years - it is a thoroughly tried and tested method which is very safe.

Does it hurt?

Absolutely not! There is no pain from Composite Bonding methods and you would rarely need any kind of injections.

Is it safe?

The best part is there is no need to cut down your own teeth, so the whole procedure is completely safe, non-destructive, and reversible!

Is it expensive?

Dental bonding is considerably cheaper than porcelain veneers/crowns. Prices can be anything between £150-200 per tooth, depending on complexity.

Is everyone suitable?

Not everyone is suitable for composite veneers, but this could be confirmed for you by one of our dentists at a free consultation.

Most patients opt to Whiten their teeth before treatment so that the composite material can be matched to their new, brighter smile. We have several options available for professional teeth whitening, which you can read more about here.
