Facial aesthetic treatments, otherwise known as facial rejuvenation, offer a non-surgical, non-invasive way to reducing the signs of ageing on the face creating a natural, more youthful appearance. Simply ask a member of our team or one of our dentists for more information!
Wrinkle reduction
...relaxes the muscles around your face, and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles in the skin, such as frown lines between the eyes, forehead lines and smile lines ("crows feet"). The muscles are simply relaxed, so you can move your face and don't look "frozen", but you'll be able to frown, smile and look surprised without the wrinkles and creases appearing.
Does it hurt?
For most people, anti-wrinkle treatment barely hurts at all, you will feel a minor scratching sensation around the skin.
Will there be side effects?
This will be fully covered at your consultation but side effects are usually minimal - mainly some level of minor bruising, redness or swelling.
How long does it last?
Results develop slowly over the first two weeks, and last up to 4-6 months, after which time you'll simply go back to your starting condition and can repeat treatment if you wish.
Facial Fillers
...offer a safe non-surgical way to restore definition, volume and fullness to refresh and revitalise for your face. Ideal for deeper lines and wrinkles, dermal fillers work to delay the signs of ageing by ‘filling out’ and smoothing away wrinkles in troublesome areas - including nose-to-mouth grooves, mouth-to-chin grooves, and jaw line or "jowl" region.
Does it hurt?
Most of these treatments are carried out in areas with very few nerve endings so discomfort is minimal, however we usually use a numbing gel on the skin prior to treatment - just to make sure!
Will there be side effects?
This will be fully covered at your consultation but side effects are mainly some level of bruising, redness or swelling for several days after treatment. Use of ice and Arnica cream will be recommended if needed.
How long does the treatment last?
Results are visible immediately but improve as the filler settles and hydrates in the first two weeks. Results last up to 6-12 months (depending on which area you have you had treated, and which product we have used), after which time you'll simply go back to your starting condition and can repeat treatment if you wish.
Lip Augmentation
...adds definition and volume to your lips. Whether you just want a fuller pout, or whether you want to restore some of the fullness and definition that's been lost with age - for a very subtle, natural finish - then lip augmentation is for you. Plus, it's completely reversible, so what have you got to lose!
Does it hurt?
Lip fillers can be uncomfortable, however we always use a numbing gel on the lips prior to treatment - to keep this discomfort minimal. Here at Truly Dental we are also pleased to offer "dental block" (local anaesthetic) if you wish, so that your lip augmentation is absolutely pain-free!
Will there be side effects?
This will be fully covered at your consultation but side effects are mainly some level of bruising, redness or swelling for several days after treatment, which can be severe in some individuals. Use of ice and Arnica cream will be recommended.
